Learning Recommendations: Successful completion of Studio Art 1.

General Description: Students will build on skills learned in Studio Art 1 with an emphasis on color theory and painting.  Advanced painting and drawing skills are learned using various art materials and introducing some nontraditional ones. Students are encouraged to problem-solve artistic issues at a more complex level in their work.

Content: 

  • Technical art skills in drawing and painting
  • The elements of art and principles of design as they relate to 2D art making
  • Introduction to various artists and art movements

Homework: Students should expect 0-3 hours of homework per week, typically involving finishing larger projects or planning and gathering references for upcoming assignments.
