Learning Recommendations: Successful completion of Business Law 1.

General Description: Business Law 2 offers an in-depth exploration of legal concepts essential for understanding the business world. This course is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in law or gaining a deeper understanding of how the legal system impacts businesses and individuals. Through project-based learning and alignment with DECA activities, students will apply legal principles to real-world scenarios, further developing their knowledge and skills.

Content: Students will study the following topics:

  • Contract Law
  • Agency and Employment Law
  • Property Law
  • Bankruptcy
  • Computer Law
  • Wills and Trusts
  • Domestic Relations Law
  • Environmental Law and Energy Regulation

Homework: Students should expect to spend approximately 2-3 hours per week on reading, case analysis, and assignments. Participation in DECA Competition may add to the workload during certain parts of the year.

Course Fees / Materials: Course fees may apply.

Note: All students are provided DECA membership and may choose to take an active role in DECA conferences. These conferences provide students with the opportunity to travel and meet students from Washington State and throughout the United States. If students choose to participate in these events, additional costs will be incurred.
