IB Computer Science SL - CO650A/B

General Description: The IB Computer Science SL course focuses on software development, fundamentals of computer systems, and the relationship between computing systems and society. Students in this course will become aware of how computer scientists work and communicate with each other and with other partners in the successful development and implementation of IT solutions. This course emphasizes the need for both a theoretical and practical approach to computer science. The course will enable students to apply and use a body of knowledge, methods, and techniques that characterize computer science. Students in their first year (SL) of IB Computer Science have the option of sitting for the Standard Level exam in May.

Homework: Time spent on homework will vary based on tasks required.

Note: 

  • IB Computer Science SL counts as a science towards the IB Diploma and for high school graduation, but does not count as a lab science credit for college admissions.
