Learning Recommendations: This class is suitable for anyone interested in analyzing film, including a mix of regular and AP students. Seniors may take it as an elective or for their English credit, while 9th-11th graders can take it as an elective.

General Description: This semester-long course offers an in-depth study of classic and contemporary film to help students understand the mechanics of filmmaking, script writing, and the application of literary terms to films. It provides insightful information for viewing and analyzing films. Students will participate in class discussions and complete written assignments.

  • Theme

Homework: There is no assigned homework for this class. However, some students may need extra time to complete in-class assignments at home.

Note: This course fulfills an English Language Arts credit required for high school graduation but does not replace the required English course for grades 9–11. This course may not meet the four-year college admissions requirement for a 4th credit of English. Students are encouraged to consult the specific requirements of the colleges or universities where they plan to apply.
