Learning Recommendations: Collegiate-level study; successful completion of Spanish 3.

General Description: Spanish 4 is an advanced course designed to promote fluency and accuracy in both written and spoken Spanish. Students will focus on expanding their vocabulary, mastering complex grammatical structures, and developing proficiency in expressing opinions, analyzing texts, and discussing cultural topics. This course is conducted exclusively in Spanish, encouraging students to engage with a variety of authentic sources such as literature, art, and media. Students will develop a deeper understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures and their global significance.

Content:

  • Vocabulary & Grammar: Continued expansion of vocabulary
  • Communication: Development of fluent, accurate speaking and writing skills through discussions, presentations, and essays.
  • Cultural Exploration: In-depth study of Spanish-speaking countries, with a focus on historical and contemporary cultural practices, literature, and current events.
  • Media & Literature: Analysis of films, literary works, art, and media from the Spanish-speaking world.

Homework: Students are expected to spend 1 hour per week on studying vocabulary, completing assignments, and preparing presentations or essays.
