Learning Recommendations: B- or better in Spanish 3 or AP Spanish Language. Retention of Spanish 1, Spanish 2, and Spanish 3 vocabulary and grammar concepts. Willingness to communicate exclusively in Spanish.

General Description: This advanced course is designed for highly motivated students who are interested in deepening their understanding of the Spanish language and cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. Students will engage in in-depth conversations, cultural explorations, and advanced grammar study. The class is conducted entirely in Spanish, providing students with the opportunity to improve their fluency, expand their vocabulary, and develop their ability to discuss complex topics. Students planning to pursue AP Spanish or further language studies are encouraged to enroll in this course.

Content:

  • Vocabulary & Grammar: Expansion of vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, and advanced grammar concepts.
  • Cultural Exploration: Study of various cultural and historical topics related to Spanish-speaking countries, including art, literature, history, and social issues.
  • Listening & Speaking: Emphasis on daily conversations in Spanish, formal and informal presentations, and cultural discussions.
  • Reading & Writing: Advanced reading comprehension and writing practice, focusing on themes from film, literature, and current events in the Spanish-speaking world.

Homework: Students are expected to spend about 2-3 hours per week studying vocabulary, preparing presentations, and completing reading or listening assignments.
