General Description: Japanese 4 is a continuation of Japanese 3, designed to further develop students' language proficiency and deepen their understanding of Japanese culture. The course focuses on advanced grammar, vocabulary, and kanji, while also incorporating primary language sources like newspaper articles, websites, and short stories. This year-long course promotes the development of advanced language skills, including essay writing and interpretation of authentic materials. Students may have the option to take exams like the SAT II, AP Japanese, or Japanese Language Proficiency Test. Daily homework and active participation are crucial for success.
