French 3 CHS (College in the High School - UW French 103) - FO603A/B

Learning Recommendations: Students should have demonstrated proficiency in French 2, with a B- or better recommended for success in French 3.

General Description: French 3 is an intermediate, year-long course that enhances students' language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while deepening their understanding of French-speaking cultures. Using authentic materials such as articles, films, music, and short stories, students will expand their grammar knowledge and communicative abilities. This course is conducted 90% in French and requires active participation and regular attendance. Students have the option to earn 5 University of Washington (UW) credits through the College in the High School (CHS) program for an additional fee.

Homework: Students should expect to spend 2-3 hours per week on homework, including vocabulary and grammar review, reading, listening comprehension, and writing assignments.

Course Fees / Materials: Course fees may apply. 

Note: Students may earn 5 university credits from University of Washington’s College in the High School program. The university credit grade will be based on chapter tests, midterms, finals, and an oral interview.
