American Sign Language 4 (Semester 1) - FOR531

Learning Recommendations: Successful completion of American Sign Language 3, or equivalent. *Seniors who have completed ASL 1 and 2 may take concurrently with ASL 3.

General Description: Students will expand their knowledge regarding American Sign Language connected to Deaf Poetry, Interpreting from ASL to English, Interpreting from English to ASL, various types of interpreting and what interpreting in the community is like in general.

Content: Units of study will include:

  • Mock Interpreting
  • Service support for Deaf Blind
  • Deaf community services

Homework: Expect 30-60 minutes of homework per day.
