Learning Recommendations: Successful completion of Fashion Design and Merchandising 1

General Description: The Fashion Design and Merchandising 2 course exposes students to careers in and skills needed for employment in the fashion industry. Students build on the foundation skills learned in Fashion Design and Merchandising 1 and apply them to industry-related projects such as forecasting fashion trends, styling clients, and creating window displays. Throughout the course, students build a fashion portfolio to showcase their skills and work and can be used to interview for schools, employment, and internships. The fashion program is affiliated with FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), providing students opportunities to build leadership skills, engage in community service projects, and participate in competitions.

Homework: There is no homework assigned for this class. However, some students require additional time for in-class assignments and finish them at home.

Course Fees / Materials: Course fee may apply.

Note: This course counts as a Fine Art credit for graduation but may not meet the four-year college admissions requirement for Fine/Visual/Performing Arts.
