General Description: IB Environmental Systems and Societies SL is an interdisciplinary course that integrates knowledge from both environmental sciences and societal studies. This course prepares students for the IB Standard Level Environmental Systems exam in May and provides an understanding of natural systems, environmental equilibrium, and human impacts on the biosphere. It emphasizes hands-on work in labs and the field, addressing environmental sustainability and human interactions with the environment. This course meets one college prep science requirement as a lab-based science course, as per the Higher Education Board of Washington State.

Homework: Homework will include field research reports, lab work documentation, independent projects, and preparation for assessments.

Equipment to be Provided by Student: One composition notebook and appropriate field clothing.
