Learning Recommendations: An interest in learning about the criminal justice system. While Criminal Justice 1 is not required, it is highly recommended.

General Description: Criminal Justice 2 builds on the knowledge from Criminal Justice 1 and focuses on additional aspects of the criminal justice system, particularly the U.S. court system, corrections, and juvenile justice. The course involves hands-on activities such as mock trials and comparative analysis of correctional systems. Students will explore courtroom procedures, correctional alternatives, and the juvenile justice system, while developing leadership skills and critical thinking. Guest speakers from courts, corrections, and other agencies provide real-world insight.

Homework: Most projects and assignments will be completed during class to ensure access to necessary tools and peer collaboration. Homework for this class will primarily consist of assignments not completed during the provided class time.

Additional Information: Completion of both Criminal Justice 1 and 2 may qualify students for college credit through CTE Dual Credit programs.
