Kindergarten Registration for 2026-27 School Year!

It’s Kindergarten Registration season! The Issaquah School District is now open for the 2026–27 school year, including applications from families who live outside our district boundaries.

If your child will be 5 years old by August 31, 2026, it’s time to register for kindergarten. Explore open enrollment options and learn how to apply.

Community Update: October 2026

As autumn settles in and the school year finds its rhythm, Superintendent Heather Tow-Yick reflects on the many ways our schools and community come together. From welcoming students each morning at Maple Hills Elementary to connecting with families at Salmon Days, she highlights the importance of belonging, engagement and partnership. She also shares upcoming opportunities to learn more about high school programs and help shape the new high school, the launch of a Mandarin dual language program in 2027 and ways families can share their voice through the district’s family and caregiver survey this month.

A Beautiful Place To Live

The Issaquah School District is located just 17 miles from the heart of downtown Seattle and close to offices of major employers, including Amazon, Starbucks, Microsoft, Costco, Facebook, and Google. Our beautiful location in East King County is removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to visit regularly. It also provides easy access to SeaTac airport, local sports venues, as well as skiing, hiking, and other outdoor activities in the Cascade Mountains.

A Beautiful Place To Learn

The ISD’s 27 schools are located across 110 square miles and within seven cities. Our schools educate nearly 18,500 students, with an increasingly diverse population as our region continues to grow and flourish.Our schools have high levels of parental involvement, with most of our Parent-Teacher-Student Associations having close to 100 percent membership. While our schools are always academically celebrated, their true character shines through the passion, compassion, creativity, and diverse interests of students and staff.

Board Directors and ISD Administrators will meet in person in the ISD Administration Center Boardroom, 5150 220th Avenue SE Issaquah, WA 98029.

 

The Work Study is open to the public, however there will be no public input and no board action will be taken.  Any action resulting from the discussions will take place at a future board meeting.  The public is always welcome to send any comments to the Board at schoolboard@issaquah.wednet.edu.

The Issaquah School District’s Parent Advisory provides a space for parents and families of students with disabilities to connect with district leaders, share perspectives, ask questions, and provide feedback.

The Advisory supports open dialogue, listening, and collaboration around the programs, practices, and services that support students with disabilities. Families have opportunities to hear department updates, share community perspectives, and help identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.

The purpose of Parent/Caregiver Advisory is to strengthen communication and partnership between families and the district in support of students with disabilities.
