Applications Open for New High School Advisory Team

Our district is building a brand-new high school, opening Fall 2027, with career-connected pathways in Engineering & Robotics, Entrepreneurship, and Health Sciences. Before a single student walks through the door, we want your voice in the room. 

We're forming a New High School Advisory Team, a group of students, families, community members, and industry partners who will meet monthly to share feedback, input, and ideas with our core design team as they shape the student experience, curriculum, and school culture. This is a rare chance to help inform something new from the ground up. 

Who we're looking for: 

• Students from the Issaquah, Liberty, and Skyline feeder patterns, and Gibson Ek 
• Parents and guardians 
• Community members 
• ISD alumni 
• Industry professionals with expertise in engineering/robotics, health sciences/nursing, or entrepreneurship 

What it involves: monthly meetings throughout the school year, optional virtual office hours, and a few community engagement opportunities such as like a community event planned for October. We're asking members to commit to the full term, since a consistent voice matters most to good design. 

Applications open today, August 31 and close September 11 at 5:00 p.m. Members who are selected will be notified during the week of September 21, before our first meeting in early October.

Apply for the New High School Advisory Team

We're recruiting up to 27 Advisory Team members: 

From each of our three feeder patterns — Issaquah HS, Liberty HS, and Skyline HS (up to, per feeder): 

• 2 parents/guardians/caretakers 
• 3 students (middle or high school) 
• 1 student (Elementary) 
• 1 community Member 

The team will also include these districtwide seats: 

• 1 Gibson Ek High School student or family member 
• 1 ISD alumni student or family member 
• 3 industry partners with expertise across our pathways in Engineering & Robotics, Entrepreneurship, and Health Sciences/Nursing 
• 1 ISD administrator (district-appointed)
