The district is looking for secondary students, staff, parents/guardians and community members to represent their community as members of the Issaquah School District Capital Bond Planning Committee. The committee’s work will be essential in assessing the needs of our facilities and shaping a potential bond measure for 2024.
We will consider each application and choose representatives to achieve representation of the diversity of the community, a wide range of experiences, perspectives and geographic locations, as well as a commitment to attend all meetings.
Background and experience that may be helpful include, but are not limited to:
- Effective listening skills and openness to all perspectives.
- Ability to compromise and build consensus on a team.
- Interest in supporting all students, staff, schools, and our broader community.
- Growth and innovation mindset for learning experiences.
- Knowledge in areas such as construction, financial planning, long range planning, and facility management.
- Ability to prioritize ideas and resources based on highest need.
- Understand need to align work with laws, regulations and policies.
Please be aware that the committee is scheduled to meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, January through April of 2024. Meetings will take place at the administration building and food will be provided. Representatives should plan to attend each meeting:
