Bond Would Relieve Crowding at High School Level

Bond 2024

Did you know that our high schools were built to support 1,800 students? We are currently serving about 2,300 students at Skyline High School and 2,500 at Issaquah High School.

This limits access to some programs and classes, and also impacts safety. To ensure that every student has access to the space they need to learn and grow, the 2024 School Modernization & Construction Bond will fund expansions at all our high schools while also providing the funds to build an additional high school to help balance enrollment at the high school level.

Skyline and Issaquah high schools are each currently in the state's "top 20" list of high schools with the largest student enrollment, according to the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Once the New High School is built, 600-700 students from each of Skyline and Issaquah high schools would be moved to attend the New High School.

Learn more about what the bond would fund in the area of high school capacity and space for program expansion on our bond website.
