Dear ISD families and caregivers,
We are writing to share an update regarding the recent Canvas cybersecurity incident involving Instructure, the company that operates Canvas.
According to Instructure, the incident has been resolved. The company informed customers that the cyber criminals returned the data and indicated it was not publicly shared or retained. While there is never complete certainty when dealing with cyber criminals, Instructure stated it took every possible step within its control to help protect student and staff data.
Canvas continues to operate normally, and our Technology Services team has verified that district systems are functioning as intended. At this time, there is no additional action needed from ISD families.
We will continue to monitor updates from Instructure and share additional verified information if needed.
