EP&O Levy Represents 15.6% of District Revenue

Election - Levy Focus Announcement

The Renewal Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Levy represents 15.6% of the district's revenue, and continues funding for student services, academic programs and support services.

These local dollars help fill the gap between what state and federal funds provide and the cost of services and programs provided to Issaquah School District students.

The EP&O Levy is one of three proposed measures on the April 26 Special Election ballot. The election will also include Prop. 2, a Renewal Capital (Technology and Construction) Levy and Prop. 3, a Transportation (School Bus) Levy. The EP&O Levy provides:

  • Funding for nurses. The state funds 3.5 nurses for our nearly 20,000 students at 27 schools. Local levy dollars enable the ISD to employ 26 nurses, ensuring each school has a dedicated RN or LPN on staff.
  • Dollars for Mental Health Counselors. The EP&O levy provides 13 contracted mental health counselors through Swedish Medical Center.
  • Special Education: There is a gap between the $31.4 million that state and federal dollars provide, and the $38.7 million budget for Special Education programs and services for students throughout the Issaquah School District.
