Food Services Shares Updates for 2022-23 School Year

Lunch Icon for Announcements

Our Food Services teams are gearing up for the new school year and are excited to prepare and serve students and staff healthy, nutritious meals. This school year, we’re returning to the National School Lunch Program – for those who had students attending pre-COVID, this is a return to “normal,” with a couple of adjustments.

We realize that we have families and staff who are new to the system, so here’s a bit of information about what “normal” lunches look like in the Issaquah School District:

  • Lunch will cost $4 for elementary students, and $4.25 for middle and high school students. Last school year, meals were free of charge thanks to federal waivers, but those waivers expired.
  • Families are encouraged to apply for Free and Reduced Price meals if financial assistance is needed. Information about how to apply is available on our website or via paper applications available at school offices.
  • Families can add money to their student’s lunch account online using a debit or credit card at More information about this service is available on our website. Cash and checks are also accepted at your student’s school.
  • In addition to the information already listed, our website also has details about menus, nutritional data, food allergies, the USDA Nondiscrimination Statement and more.

In a slight shift from our practice before the pandemic, all students will receive a new 5-digit PIN number for the 2022-23 school year. Making this adjustment will allow the new PIN numbers to remain the same and follow students throughout their enrollment in the district. This new PIN number will be available in your student’s Family Access account in early August.
