Help Shape Our New High School

General Announcement Icon for Announcements

Issaquah School District’s New High School opens in fall 2027, and now we need your help shaping its identity and providing feedback at our upcoming collaboration event.

Share Your School Name, Mascot and Color Ideas by October 14

From September 28 through October 14, students, families, staff, alumni, neighbors and community members can suggest a school name, mascot and school colors — and tell us why their ideas would be a good fit.

Think about an identity that is meaningful to our community, welcoming to students from across the district, distinctive and built to last. What name could reflect our community, landscape or history? What mascot could represent future generations of students? What colors could give the school an identity of its own?

After the survey closes, the New High School Core Team, Advisory Committee and district leadership will review the suggestions and develop a short list of options. The community will then have another opportunity to weigh in through a second survey. Under District procedure, the School Board makes the final decision on the school name Nov. 12, 2026.

Share your ideas by October 14 on our website.

Join Us October 21 at the High School Information and Community Collaboration Event

Community members are also invited to the High School Information and Community Collaboration Event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on October 21 at Pickering Barn. This is a great opportunity for families, caregivers and students in grades 5 through 11 to meet the New High School core team, learn about the school and its career-connected programs, and explore the future of high school education in Issaquah School District.

The New High School will serve approximately 700 students and be open to all students across the district. The school will offer career-connected programs in Engineering & Robotics, Entrepreneurship and Health Sciences. Join us to learn more and provide feedback.

Preregister to attend this event on our website.
