Local Levy Provides 15.5% of General Fund Dollars

Recently, we shared where our funding comes from. But what does that mean for our schools, students and staff?
The state is required by law to fund "basic education," but that definition is murky at best. When our district asks the community to consider a levy, such as the Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Levy renewed by voters in 2022, that funding bridges the gap between what the state funds and the true cost of operating our schools. In the Issaquah School District, the EP&O Levy provides 15.5% of our General Fund.
