New Career & College Planning Platform, 'SchooLinks'
Starting in Fall 2026, Issaquah School District students in grades 7 through 12 – and their families – will have access to Washington State’s universal High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) and career-readiness platform, "SchooLinks."
Using this platform, students will be able to:
- Access surveys to explore their career interests, strengths, and skills
- Find career matches based on the results of the surveys and activities they complete
- Explore all career fields, including the post-high school pathway(s) to access them
- Explore 2-year and 4-year colleges, apprenticeships, trade schools, and other options for education or training after high school
- Create course plans based on career interests, aspirations, and goals
- Connect to local or regional internship, employment, volunteer, and career exploration opportunities
- Explore events and programs happening in their school and community
- Increase their understanding of typical cost of living expenses in the "Game of Life," a financial future planning feature
- Ensure they know how to apply for financial aid
- Create digital portfolios and resumes they can choose to share with employers and colleges
- Write annual career-readiness goals that are aligned with post-high school plans to help stay focused and on track
- And more!
What does this mean for students and families?
- Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, the district will no longer use Xello for the High School and Beyond Plan.
- Students and families will lose access to Xello on August 1, 2026.
- If students want to save any of their work and information from Xello (for example, saved careers or colleges, resume information, personality assessment results, etc.), they should do so before August 1. Step-by-step instructions are available on our website.
- Students and families will have access to SchooLinks to complete HSBP requirements and engage in meaningful career-readiness activities.
We will share more information, including login instructions for SchooLinks, in the fall. More information about this transition can be found on the district's High School and Beyond Plan webpage.
