Qualifying ISD Students Guaranteed Admission to 5 State Colleges
Beginning in the 2023-24 school year, Issaquah School District seniors who qualify will receive notification of guaranteed admission to five Washington colleges and universities. It is important to know that:
- Guaranteed admission is not free admission.
- The Guaranteed Admission Program (GAP) still requires students to apply to the post-secondary school(s) they are interested in attending.
- Students who do not qualify for guaranteed admission should still apply to the school(s) they are interested in, because they can still be admitted without guaranteed admission.
The participating colleges and universities are:
- Central Washington University
- Eastern Washington University
- The Evergreen State College
- Washington State University
- Western Washington University
To qualify, students must meet the college's GPA and course requirements. Other key points include:
- Families with students who are not interested in participating should opt out during the Enrollment Verification Process (EVP) in early August.
- A reminder to complete this opt-out (for those families of seniors who do not want to participate) will be sent to all ISD families the first week of August.
Beginning in December, college admissions staff will reach out to qualifying students who have not opted out. Students who are interested in attending college must complete the application process and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA).
