Sharing Suicide Prevention Resources

General Announcement Icon for Announcements

Each September is recognized as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration), the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and other mental health organizations. It’s “a time to raise awareness, spread hope and spark meaningful action around one of the most urgent mental health issues of our time,” NAMI says. We are sharing resources and places to connect for help, for you or for anyone you know.

Anyone can seek help anytime by calling the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The 988lifeline.org website also has resources for texting, chatting, people who speak Spanish, people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and more.

Our district partners with Care Solace, a central hub that connects students, staff and their family members with care. At no cost, Care Solace will quickly and confidentially find available providers for mental health and/or substance abuse, matched to the needs. Care Solace is available at any hour of the day, including nights, weekends and holidays, in more than 200 languages. For more information about Care Solace, visit our website or call 888-515-0595 at any time.

Our Counseling team also shares additional resources on their webpage.
