During inclement weather, or when school is delayed, buses may run on snow (emergency) routes. This means that for safety reasons, our drivers pick up students at different locations than usual. Please log in to see your student’s snow/emergency route now. We recommend that you do not wait until it is a snow day to login, because you may have login difficulties or questions; or, some snow routes may be incorrect. We're asking families to be prepared for inclement weather by viewing your snow routes now.
Find your snow routes and emergency stops on the Bus Snow Routes and Emergency Stops webpage or the Find your bus route webpage. Your student’s Snow Elink login is the same as the regular Elink login.
- Parents and guardians, please note: We ask that you ensure your student has a safe and reasonable walk to and from the designated group stop. If they do not, please meet the bus and transport your child the rest of the way home.
- Kindergarten students cannot get off at a snow route emergency stop without a parent, caregiver or other approved adult to meet them.
- If the student’s snow route information is the same as their regular route information, then they do not have a snow/emergency route stop. Use their regular bus stop location.
- If it is announced that the district will be on snow/emergency routes for the morning pickup, we will also be on snow routes for the afternoon drop-off, regardless of weather conditions.
- Please have all students to their snow route stop 5 minutes before their regular stop time. Please dress students for the weather, as buses may run late as they navigate various road conditions.
- If there is a one-hour delay, please add one hour to your regular bus stop time to determine the delayed bus stop time. For example, if there is a one-hour delay and your student's regular bus top time is 7:25 a.m., they need to be at the stop by 8:20 a.m. (one hour late, with five minutes early for variable road conditions).
- For a two-hour delay, please add two hours to your regular bus stop time to determine the delayed bus stop time. For example, if there is a one-hour delay and your student’s regular bus stop time is 7:25 a.m., they need to be at the bus stop at 9:20 a.m. (2 hours, with 5 minutes for variable road conditions).
- Announcements about inclement weather and snow routes will be sent out via FlashAlert, School Messenger, and will be posted on the district and school websites in a pop-up window, as well as on the announcements webpage.
- You can also sign up for FlashAlert notifications at www.flashalert.net.
If you have questions about your student’s snow route, please email the Transportation Department, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
