Dear Issaquah School District students, families, staff and community,
This week marks the start of the 2024-25 school year for students and families. Colleagues around the district have been making preparations for a seamless start to the school year from learning together about new curricula and sharing best practices for teaching and learning, to ensuring every school facility has the necessary repairs, upgrades and cleaning for students and staff.
Priorities this year will focus on providing information to the community about the 2024 School Modernization & Construction bond, continuing to work toward the district and Board’s vision, mission and goals through the implementation of the district’s strategic plan, a continued focus on equity and inclusion, and being in partnership with everyone in our community.
In my third year as Superintendent, I am excited to start my journey as a new family to the district and also to see the incredible progress and passion of all our staff who are focusing on our vision that all students thrive. As I prepare for this year, I am reminded of a quote that has guided me throughout my professional career, from Margaret Mead.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has.”
See you around the community!
