Of the 900 people who have participated in a ThoughtExchange about the 2024 School Modernization and Construction Bond measure so far, 75% of those participants are students. The ThoughtExchange is one of several ways that the School Board and district leaders are asking for community feedback about the bond. Community members are invited to two School Board listening sessions; and members of the Bond Advisory Committee are being invited to reconvene to share their feedback.
Here's a look at the Thought Exchange so far:
- About 900 participants have shared 430 thoughts.
- Students, staff, parents/guardians and community members have given a total of nearly 13,000 ratings on those thoughts.
- The participants so far shared about their connection with the district:
- 75% are middle and high school students.
- 14% are parents and guardians.
- 5% are staff members.
- 4% are community members.
- 3% are parents/guardians who are also staff members.
To participate in the ThoughtExchange, visit the website to share your thoughts, and then please rate the thoughts of others who share (rating thoughts helps us see the themes and trends among the thoughts). If you participate early in the ThoughtExchange, please revisit it later to rate thoughts that come in after you participate. The exchange will be open from November 18 through December 4 (we extended the exchange two days to give more time for community participation because of the power outages after the windstorm).
A ThoughtExchange is a process designed to gather information, feedback and ideas from a community. Participation is anonymous. The data is then compiled so that patterns and trends about the topic can be reviewed and considered. A translation feature is built into the ThoughtExchange tool.
The listening sessions for the board and staff to hear from the community about the bond measure will be:
- 5:30-6:45 p.m. on December 9 at Pine Lake Middle School.
- 7:30-8:45 p.m. on December 9 at Cougar Mountain Middle School.
If you missed our recap of the November 14 School Board meeting when board directors and staff discussed the bond and next steps, it's available on our website.
