Kindergarten registration for fall 2025 is underway! If your child will be 5 years old by Aug. 31, 2025, and you live in the Issaquah School District boundary, it’s time to register to start school this fall.

To learn more about the registration process please visit our Kindergarten Registration webpage. Links to your school’s kindergarten information is also available on this page.

We ask all incoming families to complete the registration process by April 30, 2025, to help us plan for next year’s staffing and classrooms.

Incoming kindergarten students and families always have great questions. Today we're sharing five of the most common questions we hear, with the answers.

1. Will we get to meet our kindergarten teacher before the first day of school?

Answer: Yes! Our teachers and school staff can't wait to meet you. On the first three days of the school year, instead of a regular school day, we schedule our kindergarten students and families for get-to-know-you meetings.

2. What is a typical day like in kindergarten?

Answer: Kindergartners follow the same schedule as other elementary students, and spend their week learning academics such as reading, math, science and social studies, as well as time for lunch, recess, art, music, library and P.E.

3. What do I need to register my student for kindergarten?

Answer: Immunization records, proof of birth date, proof of address, and photo I.D. of the parent/guardian.

4. What are the bell times for kindergarten?

Answer: Students in full-day kindergarten follow the same schedule as grades 1-5 in their neighborhood school. Bell times are available on your school's website.

5. When and where do I register?

Answer: Now through April 30, 2025! We use enrollment data to plan and prepare for our incoming kindergarten students -- please spread the word! Registration happens online: www.isd411.org/kindergarten

We have additional details such as a sample schedule and answers to other common questions on the kindergarten section of our website.

Still have questions about the registration process? Please contact your school’s main office.
