Transportation Inspection: 'Exceptional Results'

General Announcement Icon for Announcements

Our Transportation Team was recognized for a second year running for “exceptional results” in a recent Washington State Patrol inspection of our school bus fleet. During the May 7 School Board meeting, Superintendent Heather Tow-Yick recognized the whole department and, in particular, the mechanics.

Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal and Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste sent a joint letter to Tow-Yick about the inspection.

"On behalf of the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Washington State Patrol, we want to congratulate you, your administration, and your transportation team whose diligent and tireless efforts protect the safety of Washington’s students on our school buses," the letter says. "Your diligent efforts in providing students with safe transportation to and from school, as well as to extracurricular activities, are truly commendable. OSPI and WSP would like to thank you for all your hard work in keeping our students safe."

Each year, the state patrol conducts two inspections of the school bus fleet of every school district in the state.

Thank you and congratulations to our mechanics and the Transportation Department!
