This new $231.6 million bond proposal, including principal and interest, is a 63% reduction from the November 2024 measure and will be paid off within 11 years. The bond package reflects voter feedback and prioritizes the district’s most urgent needs. If approved, the bond will:
- Alleviate overcrowding by constructing a shovel-ready, previously voter-approved new high school.
- Maintain the projected combined tax rate at $3.09 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
- Enhance safety with updated fire systems, high school vestibules, improved security systems and strengthened entry access at all school.
- Be monitored by the Capital Projects Oversight Committee, which will review project and financial progress and report back to the community.

High School Overcrowding
Our high schools have upheld academic excellence, but overcrowding creates challenges. With current enrollment and future years projected to exceed capacity, space limitations impact safety, support and personalization.
Our three comprehensive high schools each have student enrollment that is above permanent capacity. Issaquah High School is 10% above permanent capacity. Liberty High School is 15% above permanent capacity. Skyline High School is 27% above permanent capacity.
Enrollment projections below are sourced from the Capital Facilities Plan that was adopted by the school board on June 13, 2024.
