Capital Projects Oversight Committee

The Capital Projects Oversight Committee plays a critical role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective management of the district’s capital projects.

Established to provide an additional layer of evaluation, this committee reviews the use of voter-approved bond and capital levy funds. Members monitor project expenditures, review progress, assess industry trends, and identify areas for adjustment to ensure the district’s investments align with long-term goals and community needs.

The 26-member committee is composed of professionals from various fields, including finance, construction, engineering, project management, and community leadership, as well as student representatives. By offering independent insights and recommendations, one of the committee's goals is to strengthen public trust and confidence in the district’s stewardship of capital funds.

To ensure effective operation, the committee adheres to the following principles:

  • Student-Centric: All discussions and recommendations prioritize the needs of students.
  • Transparency: The committee is committed to open communication and clear reporting.
  • Accountability: Members focus on fiscal responsibility and project efficiency.
  • Inclusivity: The committee values diverse perspectives and ensures all voices are heard.
  • Collaboration: Members work constructively with district staff while maintaining independent oversight.

Committee meetings are held regularly, with agendas and updates posted on the district website. Through its work, the Capital Projects Oversight Committee ensures that community investments in safe, modern and innovative learning spaces are managed effectively and responsibly.
