The Issaquah School District is proud to have more than 180 National Board Certified teachers and administrators as part of its staff. National Board Certification was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers, and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. It is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education.
The certification process is designed to collect standards-based evidence of accomplished practice, which are broken down into four components (Content Knowledge, Differentiation in Instruction, Teaching Practice and Learning Environment, and Effective and Reflective Practitioner), and can take from one to five years to complete.
For more information, please visit the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards website.
Below please find a gallery of all teachers in the Issaquah School District who have received this esteemed certification.
Prior to becoming assistant principals, principals, and directors, many administrators in the Issaquah School District earned their National Board Certification while working in the classroom as well. They are also listed below and noted by their current position title.
