Community Update: January 2026
The levy measures that help support Issaquah School District students, staff and schools will expire at the end of 2026 unless voters renew them on the Feb. 10, 2026 ballot. In this Community Update filmed at Issaquah High School, Student Representative to the School Board Ava Datta and Superintendent Heather Tow-Yick explain the district’s three levy renewal proposals and why local levy funding continues to play an important role in supporting students, families and staff. 📚
The Educational Programs and Operations Levy ("EP&O") provides about $70 million each year to support staff and programs such as athletics and activities, special education, mental health counseling, safety and security, technology, transportation and critical repairs. 🏫 The state does not fund many of these areas, and levy funds do not support the construction of new schools. If approved, the district’s estimated total combined tax rate is expected to remain stable.
