Community Update: June 2026
Superintendent Heather Tow-Yick begins her June 2026 update by celebrating upcoming graduations and transition ceremonies while highlighting a wave of recent district accolades. On the operational side, the district achieved a clean financial audit, a state award for culturally inclusive food services, and a consecutive Exceptional Results Award for the Transportation team. Academically, 10 schools were recognized for student growth, while individual honors went to graduating student representative Ava Datta, Dr. Sharine Carver for inclusionary practices, and Youth Eastside Services for mental health partnership. Finally, Superintendent Tow-Yick previews the upcoming school year through the refreshed strategic plan, which condenses five previous priorities into three targeted focus areas: Student Well-being, Learning Opportunities, and building Trust across the community. 🎓✨
