Can you read this? Thanks to our expansion of translations and interpreters the answer is yes, regardless of what your families preferred language is! These services are critical to student success and engagement in school. To expand these services our Equity department:
- Partners with Alboum and Language Line to create easy to access translation and interpreter services for staff to use when reaching out to our linguistically diverse families.
- Provides training to staff on how to access a family’s preferred language of communication, how to use Alboum or Language Line, and how to use Google Voice.
- Creates templates for buildings to use when sending out E-news information that explains how families can get the information translated into the language they need.
- Creates robo calls and text messages in a variety of languages, as well as partners with Issaquah Schools Foundation Cultural Bridges, to help ensure a variety of methods are being used to send important school information to our families who cannot access building or district information via E-news.
