Great Careers Expo 2024
For many students, the first step towards a career follows a well-worn path: graduate high school, earn a college degree, and then find a job. But what if you have no idea what jobs are out there? What if sitting through lectures is at odds with your hands-on learning style? The annual Great Careers Expo is organized by the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce Education Committee.
Reflecting on this year's event at Renton Technical College, Austin said, "Going here, I can see a ton of businesses that are willing to have kids like me work for them."
The Great Careers Expo gives students the opportunity to tour one of our regional technical colleges and meet face-to-face with working professionals in a variety of vocational fields that they can pursue through on-the-job training, certification, apprenticeship, or two-year college programs.
"What I really like about Great Careers is the students are able to come in and learn about things that they didn't know about, that there are there are all these tremendous opportunities," said Pete Norby, Production Manager for The Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce.
