NSPRA Awards

The Issaquah School District Communications Team has been recognized with six awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for 2026.

NSPRA’s Golden Achievement Awards recognize outstanding, strategic work in school communications, marketing and engagement. Entries are reviewed by experienced public relations professionals and accredited practitioners from across the country.

The district received a Golden Achievement Award for its 2026 Levy Renewal Campaign.

In addition, the team earned five Publication and Digital Media Awards, which recognize excellence in communication materials across categories including newsletters, videos, podcasts and publications:

The awards recognize the collaborative efforts of the Communications Department, including Robert Miller, multimedia and web systems engineer; Wendy Castleman, director of communications; Jared Putney, digital media specialist; Mark Sherwood, executive director of Communications and Kim Doherty, communications specialist.

A special congratulations also goes to Moriah Banasick, executive director of finance and budget, and Martin Turney, chief of finance and operations, for their work on the award-winning Annual Budget Guide.

The district is honored to receive national recognition for its commitment to clear, engaging and informative communication with students, families, staff and the community.
