Making Play Accessible: Adapted Toy Workshop Brings Community Together

Two volunteers at Adaptive Toy Workshop at table.

The Issaquah School District Special Education PTSA and Special Education Department partnered with UW HuskyADAPT to host a hands-on workshop at Gibson Ek High School in November. Students, staff, families, and community members worked together to adapt toys for switch accessibility, learning about adaptive technology and creating inclusive play opportunities for children with disabilities.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and to our partners at UW HuskyADAPT for sharing their expertise and passion for inclusive design. Together, we’re helping make play accessible for all!
