PTAs, PTSAs Host Events Full of Fun, Fellowship

🍁Fall is in full swing, and our PTA and PTSA groups have been hosting a wide array of amazing events for students, staff and families to gather, make memories, have fun, and raise money for important programs, all in order to help better support our students across the district. 🍂

Here’s a snapshot of what some of our PTA and PTSA groups have been up to:

💙🩵Pacific Cascade PTSA

“The PCMS PTSA hosted a fun Back to School social event in September for all families to gather and enjoy field games, food truck and ice cream trike, henna and a photo booth station,” shared Tuli Davenport from the PCMS PTSA.

🧡💙Cougar Mountain Middle School PTSA

At Cougar Mountain Middle School, the PTSA welcomed parents at Curriculum Night. “We provided a 'Back-to-School" luncheon for staff and we are hosting a "Grateful Gathering" for staff! Up Next: Glow Party!” shared Mary Vickers and Sara Woody, PTSA Co-presidents.

💚💙Issaquah Valley Elementary PTA

“Issaquah Valley Elementary PTA hosted a schoolwide Read-A-Thon in October, with the goal of raising money for critical PTA programs while also encouraging students to get excited about reading,” said Darcy Wilson, IVE PTA President.

“To promote the Read-A-Thon, PTA volunteers spent a week visiting classrooms, attending recesses, and greeting students at drop-off and pick-up in costume as the Mo Willems characters ‘Elephant’ and ‘Piggie,’” Wilson continued. “The Read-A-Thon launched with a stuffy sleepover in the school library (Elephant and Piggie were in attendance, of course!), and culminated with a ‘Dress Like a Book Character Day’ celebration. Students raised over $20,000 during the fundraiser, now in its second year at IVE.”

IVE PTA organized a schoolwide Read-A-Thon featuring visits from "Elephant" and "Piggie," two popular book characters.

💛💙Sunny Hills Elementary PTA

"The Sunny Hills Fun Run is a favorite annual tradition that celebrates the success of our PTA Fall Fundraising Campaign!” said Lauren Stephenson, a Sunny Hills and Pine Lake parent who also serves as the Vice President of Elementary North for the Issaquah PTSA Council. “Our students love coming together for a day of fun and school pride. Thanks to our generous families, the Sunny Hills PTA can continue supporting students and staff through enrichment programs, teacher grants, community outreach, parent education, and fun family events all year long!"

Our PTA and PTSA groups are incredibly welcoming, and critical partners in creating community and working toward our district mission and vision. Thank you to each member of our PTA/PTSA boards and the district council, and also to the individual PTA/PTSA members.
