6972 - Mascots and Logos

Issaquah School District schools will adopt mascots, logos and team names that are (1) free from stereotypes, derogatory or offensive connotations, and (2) not likely to divide the community in significant controversy.

The Board may in its discretion require a change of any existing mascot/logo that fails to meet these criteria.

New school mascots/logos will be selected for proposal to the Board by their local school communities using a democratic process that includes a vote of the student body. The school’s proposed selection will be submitted to the Board for final approval.
