The 2024-25 school year was the second year of implementation of the district's first-ever Strategic Plan, which was developed with a strong emphasis on staff, family and student voice to ensure that everyone in our community is represented. Our 3-Year Strategic Plan launched in the fall of 2023.
Our Vision
All students thrive as they engage in meaningful learning that unlocks their passion and potential to positively impact the world.
Our Mission
Our students will be prepared for and eager to accept the academic, occupational, personal, and practical challenges of life in a dynamic global environment.
Our Students, Our Schools, Our Learning Community
Issaquah School District is educating the innovators, entrepreneurs and civic leaders of tomorrow. Our learning community creates passionate, lifelong learners who want to achieve their personal and professional potential in a rapidly changing world. We have grown with our region as it has transformed during the past 100 years from sleepy mining towns to the heart of a vibrant economic and cultural region. More than 19,250 students were enrolled during the 2024-2025 school year in the district’s 27 schools, plus site-based programs, which cover a span of 110 square miles and serve seven municipalities.
The district serves a generally upper middle-class community that is becoming increasingly ethnically diverse. Residents lead and work at local corporate giants such as Microsoft, Costco, Starbucks, Google, REI and Boeing. We enjoy great levels of parent and caregiver involvement, and high levels of PTSA membership. Our community members are engaged with us. Business members help shape career curriculum and community members are wonderful partners who volunteer, attend events and value our school district.
Our schools offer a well-rounded curriculum. Students excel in highly capable, International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs, explore interest-based and real-world learning, and have opportunities to take a variety of career and technical education classes. District teachers are respected professionals: According to the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, more than 76% hold master's degrees or higher degrees.
While Issaquah students are always celebrated for academic achievement, the true character of our school communities shows in the passion, compassion, creativity and diverse interests of our students and staff.
