What is CTE Dual Credit?

CTE Dual Credit, formerly known as Tech Prep, allows students to earn dual credit (both high school and college credit simultaneously) for completing specific Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses in high school. This program provides students with a head start on their career by preparing them for college technical degree programs.

• Students can earn both high school and community/technical college credit by completing eligible high school courses with a minimum grade of:
  • B (3.0) or better for Bellevue College, Edmonds Community College, Lake Washington Tech, and Shoreline Community College.
  • C (2.0) or better for Renton Technical College.
• Transferability: Credit transfer to other colleges or universities depends on the receiving institution. Students should contact prospective colleges to confirm credit acceptance.
• Registration Fees: Some courses may have associated registration fees.
