Chemistry

Chemistry is a yearlong laboratory course which fulfills the science requirements for graduation and university entrance.  Chemistry is a quantitative science and students do a significant amount of math.  Emphasis is placed on lab skills, scientific inquiry, critical thinking and problem solving.

For optimal success in this course, students need to be proficient in the use of computer software for word processing and spreadsheets.

Learning Recommendations include successful completion of Chemistry Lab Methods and successful completion of CC Algebra 1 and concurrent enrollment in CC Geometry.

Note:  This course fulfills (1) college prep science requirement, as outlined by the Higher Education Board of the State of Washington (HEC Board), as a lab-based and algebra based science course.
