In-Person High School Summer School is for students who:

  • Failed a course(s)/need credit recovery
  • Did not take WA State History/NW Studies
  • Are incoming 9th graders enrolling in Pre-Algebra
  • Are Multilingual Learners
  • Are struggling to fit PE into their class schedule during the school year

Students seeking Grade Improvement (earned a D or higher) should take ONLINE Summer School grade improvement courses: Go to Online Learning

Students may enroll in a maximum of three summer school courses in total, with a limit of two courses being taken online.

 

Summer School Registration

IN PERSON SUMMER SCHOOL SCHEDULE:

  • 1st Period
    • 8:00 a.m. - 9:20 a.m.
  • Breakfast
    • 9:20 a.m. - 9:35 a.m.
  • 2nd Period
    • 9:35 a.m. - 10:55 a.m.
  • 3rd Period
    • 11:05 a.m. - 12:25 a.m.
  • 9th Grade Pre-Algebra
    • 8:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.

       
  • English as a Second Language
    • 8:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.

Students will have the opportunity to select their preferred class time on the registration form. However, please note that while we do our best to accommodate preferences, the final schedule will be determined based on the number of registrations and staffing availability.

These courses will be IN PERSON 5 DAYS/WEEK - No remote/livestreaming available

Drop Policy
  • Up until Day 2 (July 8-9): Student may drop with no grade penalty
  • Day 3-5 (July 10-12): Student will receive a ‘W’ on transcript
  • Day 6 or after (July 15-Aug 2): Student will receive a ‘F’ on transcript
Coursework
  • Issaquah School District curriculum will be taught using district instructional materials and resources. The courses follow a similar scope and sequence followed during the regular school year (curriculum, assessments, etc.)
  • District grading procedures will be followed.
  • A course will be cancelled if enrollment is low.
  • If class size is limited, priority will go to incoming 11th and 12th graders who need a course to meet Graduation Requirements.
  • Students may enroll in a maximum of three summer school courses in total, with a limit of two courses being taken online.
Tuition
  • Credit Recovery - $425 per course
  • Acceleration PE - $425
  • NW Studies/WA State History - $425
  • Incoming 9th grade Pre-Algebra – FREE
  • English as a Second language – FREE

Attendance/Behavior Expectations
  • The 2023-2024 Student Handbook outlines the rules and expectations for summer school.
  • Issaquah School District attendance procedures will apply regarding excused vs. unexcused absences.
  • Summer classes are optional, and staffing is limited. For the safety and security of everyone, students must be in class accessing instruction at all times.
  • Students who are on campus and refuse to attend class will be dropped from summer school classes, no refunds will be issued.
  • Students should only be on campus to attend classes. Classes are from 8:00 a.m.–12:20 p.m. Students should not be on campus before 7:45 a.m. and after 12:30 p.m.
Transportation
  • ISD-provided transportation is available with limited routes and stops for students registered in 2-3 classes. After registration is closed, we will seek out your interest in riding a bus to summer school and will notify you of the stop nearest your address.
Refund Policy
  • Before starting the course: drop with a refund minus processing fee ($385)
  • Day 3-5 (July 10-12): drop with partial refund ($285)
  • Day 6 & Beyond: No refund
