INTRODUCTION
Please read this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) carefully before using the Issaquah School District website. Your (“You” or “Your”) privacy concerns are important to the Issaquah School District (the “ISD,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”). This Policy provides You with information of how We collect, use, store, process, and share data about You in relation to the ISD website, https://www.isd411.org (the “Site”). To that end, this Policy explains what information We may collect and maintain about You.  By accessing, browsing, or using the Site, You consent to the terms described in this Policy.  This Policy only applies to the use and disclosure of information collected through this Site.  

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
The information We collect on our Site includes both personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable information.  Personally identifiable information is information that may identify you, including, but not limited to, Your name, Your business or organization name, Your business or organization description, mailing address, e-mail addresses, telephone number and other personally identifiable information.  When You visit the Site, You may browse without submitted any personally identifiable information; however, We will receive and store some non-personally identifiable information about You, as described below.  In connection with Your use of the Site, You provide the majority of the personally identifiable information We collect about You, and in order to participate in certain functionalities of the Site, You may be asked to provide personally identifiable information.  While We do not require you provide personal information to visit the Site, You may choose to provide Us with personally identifiable information through an email message, competition of an online form or application, a response to a survey, registration process, or some other transaction online.

ISD will abide by all of the terms of service and privacy of those APIs. ISD agree that We will not disclose, rent, or sell any of Your information to any of these third parties. However, ISD has no control over and no liability for the use of Your information by its users.

NO COLLECTION OF CHILDREN’S PERSONAL INFORMATION
We recognize the importance of protecting children’s privacy and do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 13, outside of a school setting or any environment where student records are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). If you are a parent or guardian of such a child, you have the right to review or request the deletion of Your child’s personal information.  If You become aware that your child has provided personal information to Us, please contact us at publicrecords@issaquah.wednet.edu, and we will take reasonable steps to remove any such information.

COOKIES
When You visit the Site, We may place a text file called a “cookie” on Your computer’s hard drive. A cookie is a small piece of information that a web-service can store on Your web browser and later retrieve. This information does not identify You.  A cookie enables the Site to recognize You as a prior user, provides the Site with information regarding Your prior use and assists Us in determining what portions of the Site are most appropriate for You. Many web browsers are initially set to accept cookies.  Your web browser may provide You with the ability to not accept cookies. If You set Your web browser to not accept cookies, You may be unable to take full advantage of the Site and certain features of the Site may not be available and/or perform as expected.

We automatically collect and temporarily store non-personally identifiable information about You. The information We automatically collect and store enables Us to refine and improve the content of Our  services to You, and helps US understand how people are using Our services. We may share the information We automatically collect about You with Our business and organization partners. The types of information We automatically collect and store include, but are not limited to:

  • Pages visited on the Site; and
  • Address of the website from which You visited before this Site.

We may use personally identifiable information that You provide Us to communicate with You or send You informational emails, such as the ISD newsletter.

Generally, We do not sell, license, lease or otherwise disclose Your information to any other parties.  However, We may disclose Your information to third party service providers and suppliers.  These third parties may include various business service providers or otherwise directly work with ISD to facilitate this website or other services provided by ISD.  

We may disclose Your information when disclosure is necessary to: (1) comply with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, law enforcement or court orders.  This includes, but is not limited to, the Washington Public Records Act, Chapter 42.56, Revised Code of Washington; (2) protect the rights, property or safety of You, or another person; and (3) protect Our own property, rights, safety, copyright, or interests.  
 
SECURITY
When applicable, Your ISD account information is protected by a password for Your privacy and security.  It is Your responsibility to prevent unauthorized access to your account and personal information by selecting and protecting Your password appropriately and limiting access to Your computer and browser by signing off after You have finished accessing Your account. ISD endeavors to protect user information and takes steps to safeguard user account information and data maintained by Us; however, ISD cannot guarantee the security of user account information and data collected and stored. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of user information at any time.

This Site may contain links to other third-party websites.  ISD is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices, or content of these external sites.  We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any sites You visit.  

LIABILITY
Keeping Your information secure is important to Us, and ISD has invested in in protecting and safeguarding Your information. We take steps to, when possible, and as necessary upgrade and enhance Our security measures as new tools, techniques, and technology become available. However, there is inherent risk with the transmission of data over the internet, such as information collected by and/or displayed on the Site may be compromised or accessed notwithstanding the steps We have taken.  We do not guarantee that any such information will not be misused or disclosed to third parties. We will not have any liability to You for any such misuse or disclosure.

CONSENT
By using the Site, You consent to the collection and use of Your information as set forth in this Policy. If We decide to change this Policy, which We may do at any time without notice to You, We will post those changes on this page. By continuing to use the Site after We have posted the changes, You agree to and accept such changes. We encourage You to periodically review this Policy to ensure You are familiar with the most current version.

We reserve the right to revise this Policy from time to time, and We may update this Policy periodically to reflect changes in Our practices or legal requirements.  Any changes will be posted on this page with the new terms taking effect on the date of posting.  Your use of the Site after the date below constitutes Your acceptance of the updated Policy.
