School Counselors
In a comprehensive school counseling program, counselors design and deliver services directly and indirectly for their students to address academic, personal/social, and college/career needs based on national standards. School counselors help students manage emotions, apply interpersonal skills, and plan for postsecondary options. Counselors also deliver classroom lessons, facilitate small groups, offer short-term counseling, connect students with outside resources, and collaborate with families, school staff, and community members for student success.
