Positive Behavior Social Emotional Support

PBSES logo

Positive Behavior and Social Emotional Support (PBSES) helps schools to establish safe and predictable learning environments.

When students experience a safe and predictable environment, they learn more!

PBSES includes teaching social emotional skills, using positive classroom management, and teaching expectations.

Issaquah Schools have been implementing PBSES since 2015.

For more information about PBSES contact an Administrator at your school

Fun Fact: Have you heard of PBIS? Many other schools across the nation and the world, have implemented PBIS or Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. In Issaquah, we believed that social emotional learning (SEL) was of utmost importance as we implemented positive behavior supports. To signify this, we added SEL to PBIS to create a new acronym: PBSES or Positive Behavior & Social Emotional Support. Adopting social emotional learning (SEL) curricula was one of our first steps in implementing PBSES.
