Community Preschool Program

Early Childhood Education – Community Preschool Program

The Issaquah School District has community preschooler openings in our Early Childhood Education (ECE) Preschool Program. A community preschooler is defined as a child who is following a typical pattern of early development. Child must be at least 3 years old (not yet 5) to be considered for enrollment. Community preschoolers are selected at each ECE school site on a first come first serve basis. Each ECE site offers a morning or an afternoon preschool session for children with special needs. Our Holly Street and Briarwood locations also offer a full-day class. Enrollment is ongoing throughout the school year based on availability. Transportation is not provided.

Tuition:

In the Issaquah School District, we are committed to providing high-quality early learning experiences while keeping tuition as affordable as possible. For many years, our tuition rates have been set below the current market rate for similar programs in our region. However, due to the rising costs of operating a high-quality early learning program, tuition rates for our Community Peer Program have increased. The new rates align with those of our neighboring districts.

This adjustment will help us sustain the exceptional quality of our programs, which include:

  • A Washington State–licensed certificated teacher in our Community Peer classrooms
  • Evidence-based curriculum aligned to the Issaquah School District calendar
  • Small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios for more personalized attention

Beginning September 4, 2025, our tuition rates will be:

  • Morning or Afternoon Only (Part-Day Program): $475/month — 3 hours/day, 4 days/week (12 hours/week; 48 hours/month)
    Approximately $9.90/hour
  • Full-day at Holly Street or Briarwood: $950 per month

Important: Due to high demand and limited availability for the full-day program, placements will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis once both the application and signed financial agreement are received. A confirmation email will be sent when your child’s full-day placement is secured.

We understand that changes in tuition can be challenging. Scholarships are available to qualifying families through an application process. We encourage families who may need assistance to contact Shelli Gitchel at GitchelS@issaquah.wednet.edu or 425-837-5170.

Thank you for your understanding and for partnering with us to give your child the very best start in their educational journey. We look forward to a wonderful school year together!
